Message from Pastor David Wise
Welcome, and we are very thankful to have you visit our church website. We hope the content is profitable and encouraging for you, and hope you will, in turn, visit us at Macedonia Primitive Baptist Church. Macedonia is committed to the biblical pattern of New Testament doctrine and worship, preaching salvation by God’s sovereign grace alone and worshipping in the simple manner we see exhibited in the New Testament scriptures. Our church strives to uphold each other in our pursuit to bring forth fruit and good works here in this world to the glory of God (John 15:8, Eph. 2:10). I hope to instruct the people of God how to live in a holy manner (1 Pet. 1:16), how to present our bodies a living sacrifice unto God here in this world (Rom. 12:1), and how to walk worthy of the vocation wherewith we have been called (Eph. 4:1). We are commanded to teach and to make disciples (Matt. 28:18-20), and I hope we can do that acceptably by a commitment to preach the whole counsel of God (Acts 20:27) to the church at Macedonia. At Macedonia, we trust you will find a devout, loving body of believers who strive to “grow in grace, and in the knowledge of our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ” (2 Peter 3:18). We hope you will come worship with us at Macedonia and grow in Christ with us!
About Our Pastor
Elder David Wise – originally from Randolph, Mississippi – was ordained to the full work of the gospel ministry on May 16, 2015, by Bethany Primitive Baptist Church in Ecru, Mississippi. He accepted the pastoral care of Macedonia Primitive Baptist Church in July 2015. David is the son of Elder Larry Wise who has pastored churches in North Mississippi for over 40 years, the grandson of a former deacon of Hopewell Primitive Baptist Church, the late Winston Quarles, and the great-grandson of former Primitive Baptist minister, the late Elder J.A. Miller.
In his profession, David is a Certified Public Accountant and works as an Assurance Manager with Horne. David and his wife, Bethany, have one child, Zachary. David and his family live in Starkville, Mississippi.
David has authored books on Primitive Baptist doctrine entitled What Is A Primitive Baptist?, What Is The Church?, and This We Believe.
