2019 Fellowship Meeting. Elder Joe Nettles presents the errant idea of Jacob who thought he could enact inward change by simply placing an outward stimulus in peeled sticks before his speckled livestock. Instead, it was not his sticks, but it was the blessing of God that allowed Jacob’s herds to grow and flourish. It’s in this way that we need to reject the “peeled sticks” that men place before us, attempting to think we can change the nature of man apart from the life-giving and nature-changing power of God alone.
